ONTARIO WORKERS NEED A FAIR DEAL!
WAC campaign continues full force.....

Update October 2007

As you know, WAC members have shaped this campaign around three main issues:

Raise the Minimum Wage to $10 Now and Index to the Rate of Inflation
For more information, please read our Backgrounder Factsheet “Poverty is on the rise in Ontario and low wages are a big reason why.”

Expand Labour Laws to Protect Temporary and Contract Workers
For more information, please read our Backgrounder Factsheet “Expand labour laws to protect temporary, contract and non-standard workers!

Make all Employers Follow the Law
For more information, please read our Backgrounder Factsheet “Enforce Employment Standards”.

Eventhough the provincial election is over, WAC members continue to organize to keep these issues active and on the public agenda. Already we've been working hard to get the information out to our neighbourhoods and our government and community representatives.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?

Distribute our pamphlet “Ontario Workers Need a Fair Deal” in your neighbourhood. The pamphlet is available in English, Chinese, Spanish and Tamil.Call us for copies.

Include an article in your next community flyer or newspaper about the issues facing workers in Ontario. Here is a ‘sample article’ that you can use.

Setup up a meeting with your local MPP to talk about the issues affecting low wage and precarious workers. Here is an ‘MPP Lobby Kit’ with information to help you set up a meeting and talk about the issues.

Have your friends and neighbours sign our petition to support change for workers.
